8. Advice for Installation and Operation
These general installation and operation instructions for Quintex GmbH Compact Heaters
must be followed in all cases.
Product modifications or extensions are not allowed. The connection must be carried out
carefully, so that the wires will not be damaged.
The compact heater is a completely assembled and finished product ready for use.
Any installation position is allowed, horizontal or vertical location.
ATTENTION/NOTE
Although the operating temperature range for the heating body is set to -60/+200°C,
it is important and necessary to realise the temperature limitations of -60/+125°C for
the connecting cable of the heater. The connecting cable must not come into physical
contact with the heater body when operational. It should also be noted that the
routing and installation of the connecting cable must not fall below a minimum
bending radius of 3x the outer diameter of the connecting cable.
WARNING
The compact heater must be installed in an approved Ex- enclosure with a
recognized type of protection according to ATEX / IECEx / EN 60079-0
WARNING
The equipotential bonding must be ensured via the terminal lug on the aluminum
housing. The compact heater must be included in the existing equipotential bonding
and must be connected to an Ex-approved equipment.
The temperature class shall be determined by routine tests.
The surface temperature (max. +200°C) shall be determined taking into account the
installation conditions, the max. permissible ambient temperature and 110% of the rated
voltage.
Work on the assembly, disassembly, installation and commissioning shall be carried out by
qualified personnel who are authorised and trained for the assembly of electrical
components in explosion hazardous areas. The electrical connection shall comply with the
requirements of IEC/EN 60079-7 and IEC/EN 60079-14.
When installing or operating explosion protected devices, all relevant regulations must be
observed.
Compact Heaters must not be installed or uninstalled while energised.
The manufacturers operating instructions shall be observed.
