Utilisation as not submersed pump (see picture 2)
Place the pump deeper than the water surface near the pond, so that the water can flow to the pump.
The pump is not self-priming.
Take off the filter basket; connect the pump inlet and the pump outlet with hoses.
Before running the pump the inlet hose has to be filled with water.
To avoid clogging the pump a suction filter should be attached to the suction hose.
Commissioning
After reading the installation instructions carefully, you can start the new pump if you note the following
aspects:
Check if the pressure pipes have been installed properly.
Make sure that the electrical connection is 230V~50Hz.
Check if the socket is in proper working order.
Make sure that moisture or water never reaches the mains connection.
Avoid that the pump operates dry.
Warranty Information
Not covered by warranty:
Damaging the mechanical seal due to dry running or pumping cleaning agents or other chemical
substances.
Damages in transit
Damages caused by unauthorised interference
Parts subjects to wear (propeller, sealing flange) do not fall under warranty.
Hints for maintenance!
The pond motor pump is a maintenance-free and a practice-proven quality product that was subjected
to rigorous final inspections. For a long working life and continuous operation we recommend regular
checking and proper care.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Overload protection:
The pump has an integrated overheat protection. After the pump is stopped it has to cool down for a
while due to the overheat control device, before it runs again. In case it does not run again by itself,
the following checks shall be conducted:
Could the pump cool down sufficiently due to the overheat protection after being stopped?
Is the water supply sufficient?
Is the filter clogged?
Is there dirt in the pump housing?
Is the hose or the pipe clogged?
Is the hose broken, too long?
Maiintenance and cleaning of the pump picture 2 + 3:
Disconnect the pump!
Turn the pump upside down. Release the 4 screws. Press together the filter trays and separate the
upper from the lower half. Now you can see the pump body. Unscrew the universal outlet (3).
Separate the motor housing (4) from the pump body by releasing the 4 screws (9). Pull the rotor (im-
peller assembly) (8) out of the motor housing. Clean all parts with water and wipe off with a soft
sponge.
Assembly:
Introduce the rotor/impeller assembly (8) carefully in the motor housing/pump body (4). Make sure that
the rotor is properly placed and can rotate freely. Check if the sealing ring (5) is correctly placed on the
motor casing cover (6).
Attach the motor casing cover/pump house (6) to the motor housing/pump body (4) by tightening the 4
screws 4. Screw the pump/motor-assembly on the lower half of the filter tray, screw on the universal
outlet, attach the filter tray upper half and bring together the two filter halves.
