6. Assembly
6.1 Installation
It is necessary during installation to follow the installa-
tion instructions, to comply with local requirements and
to follow the codes of good practice.
The installation may not take place in areas or ducts
where poisonous gases or vapours may be present or
where flooding can occur.
The installation must take place at the deepest point of
the heating system.
The installation location should be protected against
frost and be easily accessible.
6.2 Assembly instructions (fig. 1)
CAUTION!
To avoid stagnating water the refilling combina-
tion must be attached as directly as possible to
the service pipe!
The rules of the drinking water regulation must
be considered during the assembly!
1. Thoroughly flush pipework.
2. Dismount insulation jacket.
3. Install refilling combination.
• Install in horizontal pipework with discharge
connection directed downwards.
• Note flow direction (indicated by arrow).
• Install without tension or bending stresses.
4. Attach drain pipe to discharge connection (platic
pipe HT 40).
5. Mount insulation jacket.
7. Commissioning
7.1 Setting outlet pressure (fig. 2)
The pressure reducing valve is set to 1,5 bar
i
during manufacture!
1. Close ball valve on inlet and outlet.
2. Slacken tension in compression spring.
Turn adjuster knob to the left (-).
3. Open and close drain cock at the shut off ball valve
downstream.
Pressure reducing valve is decompressed.
4. Slowly open ball valve on inlet.
5. Setting outlet pressure.
Turn adjuster knob until the manometer shows the
desired value.
6. Slowly open ball valve on outlet.
7. Refilling combination is ready for use.

By occasional inlet pressure fluctuation dripping
i
water can escape from the discharge connec-
tion!
This is not a malfunction and thus no cause for
a complaint!
8. Maintenance
We recommend a planned maintenance con-
i
tract with an installation company
In accordance with DIN EN 1717 a regular mainte-
nance must be taken.
8.1 Inspection Backflow Preventer
Frequency: once annually
i
To be carried out by an installation company
To be carried out by the operator
8.1.1 Function (fig. 3)
1. Close ball valve on inlet.
2. Open drain cock at the shut off ball valve upstream.
The backflow preventer change to shut-off position
(back pressure) if the differential pressure between
middle- and inlet chamber is smaller than 10% of
the inlet pressure. The upstream non return valve
is closed and the discharge valve is opened.
CAUTION!
Discharge valve does not open ☞ Replace
refilling combination!
3. Close drain cock at the shut off ball valve upstream.
4. Slowly open ball valve on inlet.
8.1.2 Tightness
1. Open sampling point.
Refilling combination changes into flow position.
2. Optical control refilling combination of location and
tightness.
CAUTION!
Water is escaping from refilling combination ☞
