Slide-rule outer scale

lthough divided on a scale from 10 to 100 this does not
restrict the use to this range but can be understood for all
numbers such as 1; 10; 100 or a multiple thereof. The decimal
value i.e. the position of the decimal point is irrelevant on the
slide-rule as its position is only determined after completing
the calculation. The orange 10 provides the logarithmic basis.
60 stands for the duration of one hour = 60 minutes. Indis-
pensable is the arrow at 36 for speed calculations (e.g.
metres per second in kilometres per hour = m/s in km/h).
Immovable inner slide-rule scale
(black)
The orange arrow at 60 with the letters MPH is the basis for
all operations which refer to speed. The arrow is also the
hour-marker.
