The significance of numbers and special-markings
The orange markings facilitate the changing of litres (LTR) into
gallons (G L) or miles into kilometres. One sea mile (N UT) is
the equivalent of 1.852 km and one English land mile (ST T)
1.6093 km. The triangles on both scales are reference
markings for the following slide-rule functions.
