WARNING
Safety warnings
1. Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Keep children and bystanders
away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
c) Create stability for the appliance prior
to any work on or with the appliance to
prevent accidents or damage.
d) Injury hazard! Place the appliance
in a stable position; when using the
appliance in the vicinity of swimming-
pools, garden ponds or other outdoor
bodies of water, keep it at least 2 m from
the water's edge and protect it from
falling into the water or flooding. This
does not apply to submersible pumps,
since they can be used immersed in
water.
2. Electrical safety
a) Electrocution hazard! Only connect the
appliance to an electrical power source
compliant with the relevant standards
(IEC 60364-1); during start-up, the
appliance may generate interference
on the electrical system. Only connect
the appliance to a socket fitted with a
residual current device rated at 30 mA
or less. Use only electrical extension
leads compliant with the relevant
regulations, approved for outdoor use
and with gauge at least equal to that
of the appliance's power cable. Power
cables wound onto reels must be
completely unwound.
b) Check the power cord with mains plug
for damage before every use. If the
power cord is damaged, please arrange
immediately for the exchange by an
authorized customer service or a skilled
electrician.
c) All electrical sockets should be fixed in
an area that is protected against floods.
d) Unsuitable electrical extension cables
can be hazardous. Only use electrical
extension cables outdoors which have
been approved and labelled for this
purpose and have an adequate cable
cross-section.
e) The mains plug and the coupling of an
extension cable must be watertight and
must never lie in water. Moreover, the
coupling may never lie on the ground.
The use of cable reels that ensure that
the sockets are at least 60 mm above
the ground is recommended.
f) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodified
plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
g) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase
the risk of electric shock.
h) The voltage indicated on the type plate
must correspond to the voltage of the
electrical source.
i) Do not touch feed fluids, the rope
attached to the carrying handle as well
as objects that are in contact with the
feed fluid (e.g. pipelines extending into
the water, railings, etc.).
j) Electrocution hazard! Do not touch the
plug and/or socket with wet hands
