Mounting
NOTICE
Damage caused by turning the antenna connection
When assembling and disassembling the antenna or the antenna
connection cable, you should apply counter pressure to the hexagon
screw of the antenna foot with an open-ended wrench (wrench size
30 mm).
Note
Antenna performance
In order to achieve the stated gains, please note the following:
 Mount the antenna on the provided bracket only or on a horizontal
metal surface. The antenna must be installed vertically with the
connector facing downwards.
 Install the antenna so that the antenna housing is elevated above
the metal surface to which it is mounted.
 Ensure that at least 300mm of separation is maintained between
the antenna and nearby metal objects and surfaces.
Mounting on horizontal surfaces
You can mount the antenna directly on a vehicle, switch cabinet or a
horizontal metal surface with a diameter of at least 200 mm. The mate-
rial on which you attach the antenna should be between 2 and 15 mm
thick.
1. Prepare a hole on the mounting surface with a diameter of 16 mm.
2. Clean the area around the hole. Remove all swarf, paint and primer
from the underside of the mounting surface to ensure adequate
electrical contact using washer and nut.
3. Remove the nut, washer and the adhesive pad backing from the
underside of the antenna and feed the antenna foot through the
mounting surface.
4. Position the antenna over the mounting hole and stick it to the
mounting surface applying firm pressure to seal the installation.
Sticking at ambient temperatures below 10° C is not recommended.
5. Screw the antenna with the toothed lock washer and the nut onto
the mounting surface. The tightening torque of the nut is max.
5 Nm (wrench size 21 mm).
6. Connect the flexible connection cable (not included in the scope of
delivery) to the N-Connect socket. The maximum tightening torque
for the union nut is 1.7 Nm.
7. Protect the connections from environmental influences (e.g. with
self-vulcanizing adhesive tape or a shrink-on sleeve).
Wall mounting
The wall mounting must be capable of supporting at least four times the
weight of the antenna.
1. For the antenna bracket, drill four holes with a diameter of 4.5 mm.
The dimensions are shown in the dimension drawing.
When using outdoors, drill a round hole with a diameter of
22 mm for the antenna connection.
2. Attach the antenna bracket to the wall using the screws provided.
3. Remove the nut and washer and position the antenna on the brack-
et. Optionally, you can pull the adhesive pad backing off the under-
side of the antenna in order to permanently attach the antenna to
the bracket.
4. Screw the antenna with the toothed lock washer and the nut onto
the bracket. The tightening torque of the nut is max. 5 Nm (wrench
size 21 mm).
5. Proceed as with the assembly on horizontal surfaces, from step 6.
Mast mounting
1. Attach the antenna bracket to the mast with two cable ties or hose
clamps (not included in the scope of delivery).
2. Proceed as with the assembly on horizontal surfaces, from step 3.
