Installing the firmware update
The PxtMX devices are delivered with firmware that matches the device type.
If a firmware update is to be carried out, the following steps are necessary:
Request an update file from Michael Koch GmbH.
The update file is provided on a micro SD memory card.
Insert the memory card into the micro SD slot of the device.
Press the BOOT button for longer than 5 seconds.
Operating display L2 lights up yellow.
The update process starts when the button is released and may take a few
minutes.
L2 lights up red briefly (start bootloader).
L1 and L3 light up long:
Valid firmware file (as long as L1 and L3 are lit, the firmware is being loaded).
L2 lights up blue:
The loading of the firmware is finished and the device has been restarted.
Operating display
Description
L1 (red) lights up.
The firmware update is loaded (this may take a few minutes).
L3 (green) lights up.
L3 (green) is flashing. Update successful.
After approx. 10 seconds, a restart of the device is initiated.
L2 (blue) lights up.
The device has been restarted after successful update and is
in operating mode.
L3 (green) lights up.
Error (no SD card or no content).
L4 (yellow) is flashing.
After approx. 10 seconds, a restart of the device is initiated.
