The VD8TC is switched into PC Mode as soon as a cable connection with a free
PC USB port is established:
The VD8TC is now ready for bidirectional data transmission. The communication
is performed according to the Thyracont protocol; detailed information is availa-
ble in a separate description.
When the VD8TC is switched into PC Mode, actual pressure dis-
play as well as any data logging is stopped!
After the USB cable is disconnected the VD8TC switches into Auto-Off Mode.

5 Pressure Unit

To switch the VD8TC into Configuration Mode and set the display unit:

After further 5s the current unit setting is displayed:

When "mTorr" is selected actual pressure will be displayed as
decimal number with a display range of 1 – 9999 mTorr !
Without further keystroke, the unit switches to measurement mode after approx.
5 seconds. The last settings are saved.

With the instrument switched-off hold the
Mode-Key pressed for approx. 5 seconds, until
the display shows ''unit''.
