4 Operation

4.1 Pressure Display

The pressure reading remains in the display for 10 minutes. During this time the
measurement can be saved to the internal data memory by pushing the mode-
key. Each data set is stored with date, time, pressure and –if applicable- sensor
identification.

When no key is pressed for 10 minutes after the actual pressure is displayed or
when the mode key is pressed longer than 5 seconds the vacuum tester switch-
es-off without saving data.
When the battery of the VD8TC fails or is exchanged all the in-
ternally stored data sets will be preserved!

If an ADisc is attached to the connected
sensor, the display will first show the 6-digit
identification number of the sensor, first 2
characters and afterwards 4 integers.
Without ADisc "noId" will be displayed.
After 2 seconds the sensor type is displayed
("du4", "du6" or "2A"). If no sensor is con-
nected, the display will show "noSE" and then
display the actual time.
After 2 more seconds the VD8TC shows the
mTorr
actual pressure. During warm-up of the
sensor the display is flashing and no input will
be possible.
As soon as the reading has stabilized, mea-
mTorr
surement is finished and the display stops
flashing.
Save data and switch-off VD8TC.
