2.3 Product Description
The VD8TC compact vacuum tester is measuring total pressure in the range

Torr in combination with the following types of thermocouple sensors:
Teledyne Hastings DV4 (1x10
Teledyne Hastings DV6 (1x10
Televac 2A (1x10
The sensors can be mounted to suitable flanges or thread connections. The
actual pressure measured at a checkpoint will be displayed a few seconds after
the gauge is switched on. By pushbutton the measurement can be stored to the
VD8TC data logger memory.
Due to the integrated data logger functionality it is possible to store up to 1000
measurements in the vacuum tester. By means of its USB interface you can
transmit the stored measurements to a PC or record measurements online on
PC as well.
Measurement Principle
The VD8TC is operated with external thermocouple sensors, which use the heat
conduction of gases for measuring vacuum. The temperature of a heated fila-
ment is measured by a thermocouple element. This temperature is a measure for
total gas pressure.
Warm-up-time
Pressure is displayed a few seconds after the unit is switched on as soon as the
filament temperature has stabilized.

The pressure reading is depending on composition and type of the gas being
