If necessary, top up with fresh oil and
tighten the dipstick.
Changing the engine oil

It is easier to drain off the oil while it is
warm, as it is thinner.
Place a suitable collection vessel under the
drain screw (9). Unscrew the dipstick (8) and
remove. Undo the screw (9) and allow the
oil to run into the collection vessel.
Retighten the drain screw once all the oil
has run out. Re� ll the engine with engine
oil through the nozzle by the dipstick and
check that the oil level is between the
markings on the dipstick.

About compactor oil
The plate compactor is based on a closed
system, so there is no need to check or
change oil on the compactor.
Cleaning the air � lter
Clean air � lter by slackening wing nut
on top of � lter cover, remove cover and
clean � lter with compressed air. If the
� lter element cannot be cleaned properly,
replace it.
Cleaning and maintenance
Lubricate all moving parts as required. The
compactor and clutch bearings are sealed
and cannot be lubricated.
Check before every use:
Check the motor oil level and check for
leaks. Check that all bolts, nuts and � ttings
are tight.
Check for defective parts.
Check that the operating mechanisms are
functioning correctly.
Clean the underside of the compacting
plate to prevent build-up of deposits.
Periodical service:
Check the vibration-damping rubber shock
absorbers for wear and defects.
After the � rst 20 hours of operation:
Replace the engine oil.
Every 50 hours of normal operation:
Clean the air � lter.
