The result of the test process can be read now from the LED display:
K green LED flashes - In Phase
K red LED flashes - Out of Phase
When testing multiple systems, please see the supplier's notes. Its likely that some components must be
„Out of Phase", to achieve a satisfying result. Usually the polarity of e.g. 3-way speakers is switched:
Lows - In Phase (+) = 0 dB
Mids - Out of Phase (-) = 0 dB
Highs - In Phase (+) = 0 dB
Microphone polarity
Connect the receiver with the microphone via the jack connector. Power on receiver and transmitter via the
Power buttons (Power LED lit). The transmitter's acoustic test signal is now picked up with the microphone
under test placed in close proximity of the transmitter's internal loudspeaker. Usually the sensitivity of the
receiver is sufficient to test even insensitive microphones. In case of disadvantageous conditions an amplifier
should be looped into the signal path. For condenser microphones appropriate power supply must be
provided to supply phantom power for the microphone under test. You can also check audio systems via a
microphone . Connect the microphone to your system and place the transmitter close to the microphone.
Line level devices' polarity
With the LH-090, split transformers, amplifiers, cross-overs and other signal processing devices may be
checked. The test signal is picked up from the transmitter's jack output and fed into the device under test.
Adjust the output level of the transmitter via the Level control to avoid signal overload. The output signal of
the device under test is directly fed into the jack input connector of the receiver.
To check amplifier polarity the amplifier should not be set to excessive gain as input voltages beyond 50 V
may damage the receiver. Increase the level output of transmitter and receiver and adjust the amplifier gain
until a stable display is achieved.
Please note that all cables used in your test configuration should be checked for correct polarity as well!

Inserting/Replacing the battery

Please refer to the explanations under Operating Determinations.
Open the battery cover on the bottom and remove it.
If replacing the battery, remove the old battery from the battery compartment.
Leaky or damaged batteries might cause cauterisation when in contact with the skin; therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
Caution!
Danger of explosion when battery is replaced improperly.
Only replace by the same type or similar types recommended by the manufacturer.
Remove empty battery in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer.
Insert the battery and make sure that the poles are correct.
Replace the battery cover and close it.
If the device will not be used for a longer period of time, remove the battery in order to avoid battery leakage.
In order to have a long battery life, you should only use alcaline batteries.
BATTERY DISPOSAL NOTICE
Please dispose of old and used batteries properly.
Batteries are hazardous waste and should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste!
Please take old and used batteries to a collection center near you.
