Checking the high-pressure hose

Check high-pressure hoses and replace immediately if
leaking or damaged.
High-pressure hoses (operating pressure greater than
6 Mpa) must be replaced after 3 years (see date of
manufacture on high-pressure hose), even if no safety-
relevant defects are evident.
6.4
Checking hoses
!
Damaged hoses must not be repaired.
Always handle hoses (high-pressure and low-pressure
hoses) with care and check before use. Replace hoses
if inspection reveals the following damage:
R
Cracks, brittle areas, abrasion or blistering of the
hose jacket
R
Kinked hose
R
Stiff union nuts or quick-release couplings
R
Deformed or damaged connection end of hose
(sealing taper, plug-in nipple, etc.)
R
Leakage at fitting
R
Corrosion at fitting if strength is reduced as a result
R
Service life exceeded (see sec. 6.3)

Changing calibrating oil,
cleaning the calibrating oil tank
!
Take care not to allow dirt into the calibrating oil or
let it mix with the lubricating oil of the common rail
pumps.
!
Dull, grayish calibrating oil is dirty and can damage
common rail pumps and calibrating nozzles.
The calibrating oil tank can be drained via the drain
cock in the tank using an external pump. Before filling
with new calibrating oil, clean and rinse the calibrating
oil tank. The empty calibrating oil tank has a capacity of
approx. 50 liters. Only use calibrating oil to ISO 4113.

6.5.2
Draining dirty oil in the stowage space
of the work area
The dirty oil in the test area (fig. 2) must be drained
weekly or as necessary. To do so, hold a suitable
container beneath the drain cock (fig. 4, pos. 7) and
drain dirty calibrating oil.
