5. Operation
5.1. Damp detection
- Remove the protective cap from damp electrodes.
- Press and hold the DAMP button. The DAMP LED (green)
should light up.
- Place the probes onto your palm to test the unit. If the
speaker sounds, then the unit works perfectly. Otherwi-
se please check the battery. Make sure the unit is tes-
ted each time before use.
- Press the DAMP button, then put the probes onto the
surface to be tested. Make sure both probes touch the
surface.
- If there is no audible sound, that means the sur-
face is dry an free from moisture.
- If there is slow clicking and the DAMP LED blinks,
that means the surface is a little wet. Test the en-
vironment to find the wet areal. Make here extra
care before decorating.
- If there is highly tone sound that means the sur-
face is high moisture. This area must drying under
specific treatment.
Locating source of damp:
Test different area on the surface until the unit gives out
audible tone.
Move the unit a little bit away and locate if the tone raise.
Trace the damp until highest tone generated and this iden-
tify the dampest area and hence the source of damp.
5.2. Metal detection
- Put the protective cap to the damp electrodes.
- Set the selector switch to METAL „M" detection.
- Turn on the unit with adjusting dial and come to 1/2 cir-
cle. The indicator will come on immediately. Make sure-
that no metal objects or A/C source are nearby.
Reverse the dial gently until the indicators just go off. If
you want the unit to pin-point at the exact place of the
