lntroduction to recording
¡
The recording
of
radio
programmes
and
copying of gramophone records is permissible
only insofar
as
copyright
or
other rights
of
third
parties
are not
thereby infringed.
o
The
built-in electret microphone@is
of the
omnidirectional
type and
is
protected
against
sounds
from
the
recorder itself.
However,
do
not touch
the
recorder
unnecessarily
while
making r¡icrophone recordings. When
re-
cording
speech
the best
distance
between
mouth and microphone
is
about 30 cm.
The
built-in
microphone is switched off
by
inserting
a
plug into socket@.
o
Socket@is
a
combined input/output socket
(recording
and
playback)
for
record
player
(input sensitivity

a
separate
microphone-and
for all
equipment

radios,
amplifiers, recorders

fitted with
a

or

Recording

For recordings from
the built-in
microphone
ensure
that no
equipment
is
connected
to
socket

erasure

valuable recordings

Having made
the
recording,
take
a
screwdriver
or
other
sharp
obiect
and break
out
the
little
flap
at
the
baqk of the
cassette opposite
the empty
reel
(fig.
5). With
the
cassette
in
the
recorder
at
any
time thereafter,
the record
key cannot
be
depressed. Musicassettes are
in
this
way safe-
guarded
aga¡nst
accidental
erasure.
Playback
The
recordings made
can
be
reproduced
through:

Maintenance
¡
lt
is recommended
to
remove
the oxide
dust
which has
collected
on
the
magnetic
heads
after,
say, every 50 hours of
operation
or
on
the
average once a month. For
this
purpose clea-
ning cassette

be used.

Furthermore,
it
is a
good plan
to
have
your
dealer
examine
the recorder once
a
year.

Do not
expose
the
recorder, batteries
nor
cassettes
to
excessive heat
or direct
sunshine
for
any
great
length
of time'
Keep

record-
er
away
from sand and do not
store
the
cas:
settes near
radios¡ TV
sets
or
loudspeaker
en-
closures.

The
driving
mechanism
must not
be
lubri-
cated
