Keyboard

The keyboard is arranged as three keypads:

• the alphanumeric keypad (similar to that of a type

writer)

• the numeric keypad and

• the cursor keypad.

Arranged above these keypads are the function keys

and the programmable keys.

The alphanumeric keypad

This includes:

the keys for alphanumeric characters, punc

tuation marks and numerics,

the SPACE bar (located underneath the

character keys),

the shift lock (GROSS), solely for selecting

Grosso

the uppercase option of all alpha keys,

the function is canceled by pressing the shift

lock key once more.

the SHIFT key, which is pressed in order to

SHIFT

select the uppercase option of all keys with a

double assignment;

SHIFT appears in the indicator line.

The keyboard functions like that of an electric

typewriter. Actuating a key once causes the

corresponding character to be generated

once. Keeping the key depressed effects

repetition of the character.

The numeric keypad

The numeric keypad performs the same function as the

numeric characters of the character keypad.

Note that the numeric character zero and the

■ alphabetic character 0 are represented differently.

! On the screen, the zero is always rendered as 0.
