Please observe: after coding you should switch off the power for at least 5 min and then
switch the power on again for the coding to take effect.
2.3 The 4-digit number is for setting the repeat function
When sliding to ON the repeat function is enabled. Repeat function:
when it receives emission signals and sounds an alarm, it will emit
the signal immediately to drive other alarm unit; it is also a relay
for a wireless signal, so that a wireless alarm network with relay
transmitter is formed. The emitting distance is 60m for the repeat
setting. See diagram on the right for reference.
3. Hush function
• Press the button on the master alarm to set master alarm and
slave alarms in hush state;
• Press the button on the slave alarm to set all slave alarms in hush state.
WIRED NETWORK (use I/O port, only SEC-SA30)
If the smoke detector is intended to be used in "Wired network" mode, then all smoke detectors must
be interconnected (see wiring diagrams) by 18AWG 2-pole cables (conductor cross-section 0.8m) and
connected to I/O port.
For this purpose drill a hole with the required diameter through the base marked on the middle diagram
and close the smoke detector into the base.
INSTALLING YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR
The smoke detectors are to be mounted on the ceiling. Please follow these steps to install your smoke
detector:
1. Draw a horizontal line in the respective location.
2. Rotate the mounting base counter-clockwise to remove from unit.
3. Place the base so that the two slots are aligned on the line. In each keyhole slot draw a mark to
locate a mounting plug and screw.
4. Remove the base.
5. Drill two holes at the marks using a 3/16-inch (5mm) drill bit and insert plastic wall plugs. Protect the
detector from dust.
6. Attach the base to the ceiling, use the two screws and plastic wall plugs (supplied).
7. Install the battery.
8. Line up the base and the detector (aim the line on the base at the line on top cover). Push the
detector onto the mounting base and turn it clockwise to fix it into place. Pull outward on the detector
to make sure it is securely attached to the mounting base.
NOTE: When the detector battery is first connected the alarm horn may sound for one second. This is
normal and indicates that the battery is positioned properly. Close cover, then press and hold the test
button for approx. 5 seconds until the horn sounds. The horn should sound a loud, pulsating alarm. This
means the unit is working properly.
