Test 2: Check the ISDN connection
If your hardware is functioning properly, check your ISDN connection. To do so,
attempt to connect (as described on page 20).
Then, check the status of the two LEDs located along the top of DIVA USB,
close to the end that is connected to your ISDN line.

LEDs do not light
One of the LEDs lights in orange when the ISDN line is
synchronized with DIVA USB:
• In Europe, if you are connected to a private-branch
exchange (PBX), synchronization occurs when
DIVA USB is plugged into the ISDN wall jack. Other-
wise, synchronization occurs immediately before a
connection is established.
• In North America, synchronization occurs when
DIVA USB is plugged into the ISDN wall jack.
The second LED lights in green when a connection is
established.
If these LEDs light, then your ISDN connection is
working properly.
Since your hardware and your ISDN connection are
working properly, continue with the next test to try to
determine the problem: 'Check your network
configuration'.
If the LEDs do not light, try the following solutions.
Solutions:
• Verify that the ISDN cable is properly connected to
DIVA USB and to the ISDN network.
• Check your DIVA for Windows 95 & 98 configuration
(ISDN numbers; switch type; and, in North America,
SPIDs).
• Run the Line Check Utility. To run the Line Check
Utility, click 'Start > Programs > DIVA > Line Check'.
In the 'DIVA Line Check' window, click 'Start'.
Take note of the error code returned by the 'Line
Check'. This error code can help your ISDN service
provider diagnose the problem.
