Collet nut
Press the spindle lock button and turn the spindle with the spanner until the lock
button grips the spindle and prevents further rotation. Hold down the locking button
and unscrew the collet nut. Insert the new accessory as far as possible into the collet
to prevent it from running out.
With the lock on, tighten the collet nut until the shaft of the accessory is gripped by
the collet. However, excessive tightening of the collet nut is not necessary.
CAUTION: For precision work, it is important that all accessories are well balanced.
You can tell by the sound and feel. To adjust or balance an accessory, loosen the
collet nut slightly and give the accessory or collet a desired twist if necessary.
Collets
Collets of different sizes are available for different shank sizes. To fit a different collet,
remove the collet nut and remove the old collet. Insert the end of the collet without a
slot into the slot on the end of the tool shaft. Replace the collet nut on the shaft.
Always use the collet that matches the shank size of the accessory you intend to use.
Never force a shank with a larger diameter into a collet.
