NOTES: DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE FLOAT SWITCH. THE NON RESPECT OF THE FOLLOWING POINTS WILL
AUTOMATICALLY CAUSE THE CANCELLATION OF THE WARRANTY OF THE PRODUCT
Before any operaon on the float remember to disconnect the power supply from the main power.
In case of cable damage by the final user or installer, the float must be replaced.
Do not make any joint on the cable of the float switch: immersion of such joints could cause short circuits
or electrical shocks.

ADDITIONAL WARNINGS :

When the float is connected to the electrical mains, avoid cable windings to avoid creang addional parasic
inductance.
SUGGESTIONS TO CHOOSE THE INTRINSIC SAFETY BARRIER - THE TYPE OF BARRIERS USABLE TO POWER THE DEVICE
MUST HAVE GALVANIC ISOLATIONUSABLE TO POWER THE DEVICE MUST HAVE GALVANIC ISOLATION
• The Tecnoplasc level regulators (TAURUS Ex and SUPERTEC Ex) are ON/OFF switches, considered "Simple Equipment" since
they do not store or autonomously produce energy.
• They are not accessories for a machine, or safety devices.
• The electrical circuit in which they are inserted, given the very low capacity and typical inductance of the circuit, which we
remind you is composed of an electricity cable and a switch contained in a double, sealed polypropylene material shell, can
be defined as a "RESISTIVE CIRCUIT"
In a resisve circuit (almost non-inducve/capacive) there is no accumulated energy which can
electric arc. As a result, for the choice of type of intrinsic safety barrier, the energy in the circuit must be evaluated.
• First of all, the power supply voltage of the circuit should be defined. Aer which, the maximum current which can flow is
calculated.
• This value is compared with the graphs of the intrinsic safety standard (IEC 60079-11).
• If the current value is over that indicated in the graphs and the tables, it may be necessary to apply a resistor, as a safety
component, to reduce the current flowing in the circuit.
• It is good pracce to choose an intrinsic safety barrier that interrupts the circuit on reaching 2/3 of the nominal value of
the
energy in the circuit. Therefore, if the circuit does not release accumulated energy, the voltage and the current are correctly
limited, as indicated by the standard (IEC 60079-11), the circuit may be intrinsically safe.
Lastly, the thermal data should also be evaluated of the components installed to avoid ignion in a potenally
explosive atmosphere and the data must comply with the requirements of IEC 60079-11
