The CHERRY SmartTerminal ST-2100UG is a device for reading chip
cards.
It is characterized by the following features:
• eGK and KVK are read into the PVS or
KIS system
• Can be used for card applications outside the telematics
infrastructure
• Also suitable for applications such as Electronic Signature,
Single Sign-On or Home Banking
• Secure PIN entry (Class 2 reader)
• Compatible with ST-2000 and ST-2052

1 Installing the software and connecting the
SmartTerminal to a PC/laptop
Download the driver and the software from our website
www.cherry.de > Service > Downloads.

Microsoft Windows
1 Follow the installation instructions.
2 Reboot the PC.
3 Connect the USB plug of the SmartTerminal to the USB port on
the PC.

Linux/Mac
• Install the corresponding PC/SC driver from the "drivers" folder.
A CT API, special synchronized APIs or OCF driver can be found in
the "software" folder.

2 Operation
The terminal is in protected mode (Secure PIN Entry) if the right-
hand LED flashes orange.

3 Cleaning the device
1 Switch off the PC/laptop or pull out the device plug.
NOTE! Aggressive cleaning agents and liquids can damage the
device
• Do not use solvents such as benzene, alcohol, scouring agents or
abrasive scourers for cleaning the device.
• Do not let liquid get into the device.
2 Clean the device with a slightly damp cloth and a little mild
detergent (such as dishwashing liquid).
3 Dry the device with a soft, lint-free cloth.
4 Device disposal
• Do not dispose of devices with this symbol in household
waste.
• Dispose of the devices in accordance with statutory
regulations – at your local dealer or at municipal
recycling centers.
