04. USE OF THE DEVICE

1. Installing batteries:
a. Remove the battery cover.
b. Insert two AAA batteries. Make sure the battery terminals are facing the right way.
c. Replace the battery cover and close the case.
Note: Incorrectly installed batteries can damage the thermometer.
If the batteries or device have signs of leakage or mould on them, stop using them immediately.
Do not keep batteries near a fire or throw them into a fire. This could cause an explosion.
Do not store batteries in rooms with high temperatures and moisture.
To avoid short circuits, do not keep batteries or metal objects (such as coins or keys) near electrical appliances.
2. Preparation for measurement:
Follow the instructions below to ensure the most accurate temperature measurement:
a. Before taking a measurement, push the hair off your forehead and clean your skin of sweat.
b. Select child or adult mode using the „Mode" button.
c. When taking the measurement, aim the thermometer at the center of the subject's forehead, above the eyebrows.
Hold the thermometer at a distance of 1~3 cm from the subject. When you press and hold the measurement
button for 1 second, the temperature measurement value will be shown on the display.
d. If the body temperature of the person differs significantly from the temperature in the measurement room, the
person should wait at least 5 minutes in the measurement room before taking the measurement.
e. A cold compress or other forehead cooling methods in people with a fever will mean that the measured tempera-
ture may be lower.
f. The temperature in the room where the measurement is taken should be stable. Do not take the measurement in
rooms with high airflows such as rooms cooled by fans or ventilation systems.
g. The thermometer should be in the same room as the measurement. If the thermometer was brought in from
another room, leave it in the measurement room for at least 20 minutes before taking the measurement.
h. Do not expose the thermometer to strong sunlight.
3. Making a measurement:
a. Measurement of body temperature:
Make sure the probe cover is on. Select forehead mode using the „Mode" button. Aim the thermometer sensor at
the forehead of the person whose temperature you want to measure. Press the measurement button for 1 second.
b. Ear temperature measurement:
Remove the probe cover from the thermometer before measuring. The thermometer will automatically change
to the measurement mode when the probe cover is removed. You can use the „Mode" button to change to baby
mode. Insert the probe into the ear canal. Correct placement of the probe is essential to obtain an accurate
measurement. Children under 1 year Pull the ear straight back. Children 1 year and older to adult: Pull the ear up
and back SEE FIGURE D for correct placement and take the measurement.
Note: Do not force the thermometer into the ear canal. Otherwise the ear canal may be damaged. When taking
the temperature of an adult, gently pull the ear up and back to make sure that the ear canal is straight so that the
temperature probe can receive infrared radiation from the eardrum. Be careful when taking the temperature of a
child whose ear canal is small. Make sure that the ear canal is clean and dry before starting the measurement. In
case of dirt, it is recommended to clean the ear canal. Otherwise the temperature probe may be contaminated and
temperature readings may be inaccurate.
c. Measurement of the subject's room temperature:
Make sure the probe cover is on. Select the object mode using the „Mode" button. Aim thermometer sensor at
object. Press the measurement button for 1 second.
4. Viewing of stored measurements
When the unit is switched on, press the „Memory/ Mute" button to view the measurements stored in memory.
Measurement 01 is always the last measurement taken by the device. If there is no stored measurement in the
device's memory, the sequence number will be displayed normally, but instead of temperature measurement, the
display will show „---". The thermometer can store up to 20 temperature measurements. If you take more measure-
ments the oldest stored result will be deleted. Measurements taken for objects are not stored in memory.
