Gearbox

The auger gearbox has been filled with grease and sealed at the factory. If for some
reason it separates, it must be greased with about 50g of new grease.
NB: Be careful not to overgrease the gearbox. This may cause damage to the seals.
Make sure that the vent cap is free of grease.

Scraper blade and skid shoes

The scraper blade and skid shoes at the bottom of the snow thrower are wearing
parts. They should be checked regularly and replaced as required.
Dismantling the skid shoes:
1. Remove the four bolts and nuts that secure them
to the snow thrower. See Figure 13.
2. Fit the new skid shoes with four bolts (two on each
side) and nuts. See Figure 13.
Dismantling the scraper blade:
1. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the plate to the snow thrower guard.
2. Install the new scraper blade, making sure the bolt heads are seated inside the guard.
Tighten securely.
