Make sure to place the LED lighting in a location that is also below the waterline when you
are driving the boat at speed. (See diagram below)
Recommended mounting depth: between 15-20 cm (6-8") below the waterline for best
effect. Make sure the mounting location is clear of any obstacles before drilling the hole.
Mark the center of the desired location.

2. Drilling

Drill a 6-8mm (1/4") hole in the center of the desired location and feed the power wire
through the hole in the boat. Hold the lamp flat against the mirror, mark the location for
the mounting screws, and then remove the lamp. Drill pilot holes for mounting screws to
prevent cracking in fiberglass hulls.

3. Sanding

Use coarse sandpaper to roughen the surface and remove dirt from drilling. Clean the area
with alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

4. Apply sealant

Apply an even coat of waterproof sealant to the back of the lamp, especially around the
mounting holes and the wire connection. Also apply waterproofing sealant to the mirror
surface around the pilot and through holes.

5. Mounting

Feed the power wire back through the 6-8mm (1/4") hole in the boat.
press the lamp against the mirror with even pressure. Install mounting screws with the sup-
plied neoprene washers and tighten the lamp to the mirror.
6. Make a complete seal around the outer edge of the LED
Use sealant squeezed out from under the LED to create a complete seal around the outside
edge of the light. Remove excess sealant.

7. Connecting

Connect the positive wire to the positive battery terminal through the fuse to the switch
(see heading 7. connection diagram). Connect the negative lead to the negative battery
terminal. Marine grade heat shrink tubing and ring clamps are recommended.

8. Curing and Testing

Make sure the lamp is securely attached to the hull and that the sealant has fully cured
before putting the boat in the water. Lights can be briefly tested while out of the water. The
lights will overheat and turn off if used outside of the water for longer than just testing.
