5. Installation warning
Caution!
The Apache PROLED Slim Series LEDs must be mounted completely underwater to
prevent overheating.
When used outside of water, the life of the LEDS will be reduced and will be more
likely to cause malfunctions.
The Apache PROLED Slim Series LEDs have overheat protection (for testing) and
will only turn off the LEDs when the maximum temperature of 90 degrees (194 F)
is reached.
Do not test the lamps above water for more than 2 minutes. beware the LEDs will
get hot.
Installation of the LEDS should be done when the boat is out of the water and dry.
The Supplier is not liable for injury or damage to property due to incorrect instal-
lation.
6. Step by step installation
Tip 1: Know your torso; most common type is fiberglass.
Wood, metal and carbon fiber are other less common hull types. For metal or carbon fiber
hulls, first be sure to install an insulating material between metal or carbon fiber surfaces
and lamps to prevent galvanic corrosion.
If your boat's hull is metal or carbon fiber, you can use the plastic flat washers between the
hull and the back of the LEDs.
If in doubt about the hull type, contact the boat manufacturer.
Tip 2: Test lighting before mounting
1. Determine the desired mounting location on the transom of the boat.
