7. Make sure that the product is assembled correctly
and is not damaged.
8. Put the product on the work area. Make sure that the
surface is level. Make sure that the transportation of
the product to and in the work area is done safely
and correctly. Refer to
9. Make sure that the scarifying drum does not hit the
ground.
10. Make sure that the cutters can move freely on the
axle of the scarifying drum.
11. Connect a dust extractor to the product. Refer to
connect a dust extractor on page 10 .

13. BMP 265Petrol: Fill the fuel tank. Refer to
BMP 265Petrol on page 10 .
14. BMP 265Petrol: Do a check of the oil level. Refer to
the operator's manual for the combustion engine.
15. BMP 265: Do a check of the direction of rotation of
the motor. An arrow on the housing of the motor
shows the correct direction of the motor. If it is
necessary, change the direction of the motor. Refer

To connect a dust extractor
WARNING:
extractor if the dust extractor hose is
damaged. The risk increases that you
breathe in dust that is dangerous to your
health. Use approved respiratory protection.
1. Examine the dust extractor hose for damages.
2. Make sure that the filters in the dust extractor are
clean and not damaged.
3. Connect the dust extractor hose to the connection
for dust extractor. Refer to
16 for information about where the connection for
dust extractor is on your product.
To connect the product to a power
source BMP 265
1. Connect the power plug of the product to an
applicable extension cable.
2. Connect the extension cable to a mains outlet.
CAUTION:
connected to a dust extractor, the dust
extractor must be connected to a 3-phase
power source.

If available, use low-emission/alkylate gasoline. If low-
emission/alkylate gasoline is not available, use good
quality unleaded gasoline or leaded gasoline with octane
number not less than 90.
CAUTION:
octane number less than 90 RON (87 AKI).
This can cause damage to the product.
To
1. Open the fuel tank cap slowly to release the
pressure.
2. Fill slowly with a fuel can. If you spill fuel, remove it
with a cloth and let remaining fuel dry off.
3. Clean the area around the fuel tank cap.
4. Tighten the fuel tank cap fully. If the fuel tank cap is
not tightened, there is a risk of fire.
5. Move the product a minimum of 3 m (10 ft) from the
position where you filled the tank before a start.
To start the product
1. Make sure that the lift lever and the depth
adjustment wheel are in up position.
2. Make sure that the brakes are engaged.
3. Start the dust extractor.
4. Put the cord of the operator presence control around
your left wrist.
5. BMP 265Petrol: Set the engine ON/OFF switch to
"ON".
6. Start the product:
a) BMP 265: Push the start button.
b) BMP 265Petrol: Pull the starter rope handle.
7. Slowly lower the lift lever.
8. Turn the depth adjustment wheel clockwise until the
scarifying depth is correct.
9. Pull the brake handle in the direction of the handle to
release the brakes and move the product forward.
To operate the product
1. Hold the handle with a light pressure to make sure
that the rear wheels get a maximum hold.
2. Operate the product in parallel tracks and make sure
that the dust hose and the electric cable on BMP 265
do not become twisted.
