– Risk of hydraulic pressure peaks
– Risk of high switching frequency at low oil pressure after safety cut-outs
– Type and control of oil cooling
– System and oil contamination levels
Normal operation
Further on, the term "normal operation" shall mean that
• the compressor is operated at a safe distance within the operating limits,
• the appropriate suction gas and discharge gas superheat, neither too high nor too low, is ensured.
This prevents dilution of the oil by refrigerant dissolution or excessive thermal load.
• the compressor is operated with original BITZER oil.
• other specifications of BITZER are observed.
Information
All given inspection and replacement intervals can only be rough guidelines. Any kind of assurance for a
certain lifetime or characteristic feature – as defined by warranty – cannot be obliged to.
Lifetime and replacement intervals of components can only be predicted relatively exact:
• for factory produced systems based on empirical values of the system manufacturer or
• for systems that are equipped with several compressors (parallel operation) and if at the same time one or more
compressors of this system or of a parallel system are thoroughly inspected after 10000 running hours.

3.1 Regular tests

Check the system at regular intervals according to national regulations. Check the following points:
• Operating data
• Oil supply
• Safety and protection devices and all components for compressor monitoring (check valves, discharge gas tem-
perature limiters, oil monitoring, pressure limiters, etc.)
• Tight seat of electrical cable connections and screwed joints
• Screw tightening torques
• Refrigerant charge
• Tightness
• Pay attention to unusually increased noise
• Update data protocol

3.2 Determining the intervals

Maintenance, inspection and replacement intervals of compressor parts are preferably to be determined at ap-
proval of the refrigeration system by the operator or end user, with the intervals for the other system parts. This
should primarily be done based on the system manufacturers and operators experience. The following values can
support this, where extensive own experience is missing.
