DESCRIPTION

3.1

Function

The AWG Medium expansion foam nozzles are used to produce medi-
um expansion foam in accordance with DIN EN 16712-3. The water
components of the medium expansion foam cool the fire surface. The
foam blanket prevents oxygen access to the burning material. Preven-
tive foaming protects fire-endangered materials against inflammation.
The foam agent/water mixture produced at a constant admixing rate in
the separate inductor is pressurised and sprayed in a full-cone nozzle.
The foam agent/water mixture is swirled with the aspirated air, produc-
ing a medium expansion foam with high extinguishing properties.
The supply of the foam agent/water mixture is regulated by opening
and closing the ball valve.
3.2

Intended use

Fire-fighting of class A fires
Fire class B: Fighting fires involving non-polar liquids, e.g. petrol or
oil as well as polar liquids
Preventive foaming of fire-endangered materials
Only for use with synthetic multi-grade foaming agents
Only use the device in technically sound condition and in accordance
with the intended purpose and with safety and potential dangers in
mind.

Foreseeable misuse

Use of unsuitable foaming agents
Conversion or modification
Operation in technically unsound condition
Operation outside the approved characteristic values
Fitting of spare parts that are not approved or not suitable for the
operating conditions
