Take good care of your vacuum flask
Wash, rinse and dry the vacuum flask
before using it for the first time. Always
empty the vacuum flask after use. Wash
it by hand, adding bicarbonate of soda or
washing-up liquid to the water. Use a bottle
brush to make sure it is thoroughly clean
inside.
Good to know
— Pre-heating the flask with hot water (or
cooling it with cold water) makes sure
the contents retain the desired temper-
ature for longer. Never use a vacuum
flask in a microwave oven, an oven or
freezer.
— Do not keep carbonated (fizzy) drinks in
the flask. The build-up of pressure can
make the cork explode with consider-
able force. The same thing may happen
if sugary drinks in the flask are exposed
to heat, as heat sets the fermentation
process in motion.
— If possible, avoid using the vacuum flask
for baby food and for drinks made with
hot milk. Bacteria can develop rapidly in
the heat and set the fermentation pro-
cess in motion. If you do keep milk or
baby food in the flask, make sure this is
only for a short time, and always clean
the flask carefully afterwards.

Pflege von Isoliergefäßen
Die Kanne vor der ersten Benutzung spü-
len, ausschwenken und abtrocknen. Nach
jeder Benutzung ausleeren und von Hand
mit in Wasser aufgelöstem Natron oder
Spülmittel spülen. Eine Flaschenbürste
erleichtert die Reinigung.
Gut zu wissen
— Flasche mit heißem Wasser vorwärmen
(oder mit kaltem Wasser kühlen), damit
die gewünschte Temperatur lange ge-
halten wird. Nie in Mikrowelle, Backofen
oder Gefrierfach verwenden.
— Nicht mit kohlensäurehaltigen Geträn-
ken füllen: der Verschluss könnte mit
starkem Druck herausgepresst werden.
Dies kann auch passieren, wenn zucker-
haltige Getränke in der Kanne warm
werden und zu gären beginnen.
— Möglichst nicht für warme Milchprodukte
oder Babynahrung verwenden, da sich
schnell Bakterien bilden und ein Gär-
prozess in Gang kommt. Sollten solche
Flüssigkeiten trotz allem eingefüllt wer-
den, darf dies nur kurzfristig sein. Das
Gefäß muss danach besonders sorgfäl-
tig gereinigt werden.
