Air humidity

15 Design and installation of your air curtain system

The building situation is the key to the ideal selection of any air curtain device. De-pending on
whether positive or negative pressure conditions exist within the building, two different types of
air curtain installation methods are used: IDW or ADW installation. Within these two types of
installation a variety of different versions make it possible to achieve the optimal effect for each
building situation.

15.1 Installation type IDW (air roll rotating inwards)

Air intake from the room and discharge via the door. Air circulates into the room. In theory,
installation of an IDW air curtain system is the most energy-efficient.
Preferred field of application: In buildings with balanced or positive pressure. For small and
medium-sized building situations, where no staff are permanently manned in the entrance area.

15.2 Installation type ADW (air roll rotating outwards)

Air intake from the outside and air discharge via nozzles facing into the room. Air circulates against
the cold air streaming in, creating a significantly higher screening capacity. As a result, the air flow
is notably minimized in the entrance area. Com-pared to Type IDW, the heating capacity is higher
due to the lower temperatures of the air intake area. A frost protection thermostat is strongly
recommended with ADW units.
We recommend installation of a repair switch and door contact!
Never walk underneath suspended parts and/or underneath the device
during installation!

Incorrect storage can result in damage to the system. Teddington accepts
no liability for damage resulting from incorrect storage.
A detailed safety check is required when putting the system backing into
operation after storage.
