Qualification of personnel
The Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling Wedge may only be
operated and serviced by persons who have been familiarised with
Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling Wedge and the associated
hazards by reading this manual.
Persons who operate and service the Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical
Felling Wedge must have the following qualifications:
• training as a forestry worker and knowledge of felling techniques
and timber harvesting processes,
• knowledge of first aid,
• a certificate in the use of chain saws.
Persons who operate or service the Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical
Felling Wedge and who do the felling work many not be under the
influence of alcohol, drugs or medication which could impair their
reactions.
Persons under 18 years of age may not do felling work or use the
Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling Wedge. Under the Youth
Employment Safety Act (JArbSchG), it is however permissible to allow
persons over 15 years of age to do such work under supervision of a
qualified person where this is required to achieve a training objective.
