How to Adjust your Asthma Monitor
Your doctor will adjust your AM to your personal best value. Your personal
best value is defined as the value achieved under optimal (symptom-free)
conditions.
Everything OK, no danger!
Attention!
Danger! Emergency!
Depending on this value your doctor will enter values for
"Attention!" and "Danger! Emergency!" and provide you with
the respective instructions.
When to Measure?
Observe the instructions of your doctor.
Regular measurement is recommended:
directly after getting up in the morning, at noon, and in the evening
shortly before going to sleep
always when you suffer from the following symptoms: cough, wheeze,
chest tightness, shortness of breath
after inhalation of your sympathomimetic agent, in order to control its
effect
repeatedly, if the values differ greatly
repeatedly, if medication is changed
repeatedly, in case of a bronchial infection
