5.3) Scheduled maintenance
Scheduled maintenance is essential to keep the tool in perfect working
order, to ensure operator safety and to produce reliable pressing over time.
Scheduled maintenance must be carried out when indicated by the tool
or within a maximum of 2 years.
Once the set number of work cycles prior to scheduled
maintenance has been reached, the tool needs to be sent
to Press fi t for a full inspection. The tool continues to operate
in " maintenance mode " which assumes the operator's informed
consent to continue subsequent pressing operations.
Only scheduled maintenance performed by an authorised service
centre will revert the tool to its normal operating mode, otherwise
operator safety could be compromised.
PUMA-RR and LYNX-RR only:
500 work cycles before the pre-set threshold number, a warning mes-
sage will appear on the display informing the operator that scheduled
maintenance is approaching.
39500
Number of work cycles performed.
- 500
Number of work cycles before scheduled maintenance.
This message reappears each time the tool is operated, and alternates
with the one set on the display.
Upon reaching the number of work cycles required for scheduled mainte-
nance, the tool enters in "maintenance mode". Prior to each pressing
operation, it is necessary to touch the capacitive button to release
the electronic lock and allow the motor to start.
In "maintenance mode," the LEDs fl ash and at the same time an intermittent
warning sound is issued and the display alternates the following messages:
40001
Number of work cycles performed.
+ 1
Number of work cycles exceeding pre-set threshold.
TOUCH TO UNLOCK
Touch the capacitive button to release the electronic lock
and allow the motor to start.
PUMA and LYNX only:
500 work cycles prior to the pre-set threshold, three consecutive warning
sounds at the end of each cycle will inform the operator that scheduled
maintenance is approaching.
Upon reaching the 15000 work cycles required for scheduled maintenance,
the tool enters the "maintenance mode".
To remind the operator that scheduled maintenance must be performed
(at the end of the pressing cycle, on tripping the maximum pressure
valve) the LEDs (8) fl ash and an intermittent warning sound is repeated
for about a minute after tool last activity.

5.4) Pressing jaw inspection
Before use, check the pressing jaws for any wear on the inner part of the
pressing area.
Do not use damaged pressing jaws. Failure to comply
with this warning may lead to serious physical injury.
Using worn or damaged pressing jaws can lead to non-
compliant pressing operations and subsequent problems
with the watertightness of the joint seals.
Clean the surface with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any dirt residue,
especially on the inner part of the pressing area. Grease the rotation pin
and the jaw springs regularly with a few drops of oil.
The condition of the pressing jaws is depending on the
frequency of use. In addition to the usual checks and tool
maintenance, we recommend that the pressing jaws are sent to
Press fi t for a full inspection.
5.5) Computer connection (PUMA-RR and LYNX-RR only)
The tool's integrated electronic card records the work cycle parameters
for 200,000 completed cycles for transfer to a computer using the USB
cable provided. To view and manage the data, requires installation of the
software available in the dedicated area of the website www.pressfi t.com.
Firmware updates should also be installed to obtain maximum tool ef-
fi ciency and guarantee the best performance.
5.6) Support
For information on the nearest approved support centre, consult the
website www.pressfi t.com.
Repairs must be undertaken by qualifi ed Technicians
only, using original spare parts.
Failure to do so places the operator at risk of serious harm.
5.7) Return to Press fi t for inspection
In the event of damage or failure, contact our Local Agent for advice and
information on how to return the tool to our headquarters. Fill in and at-
tach the form available in the "Customer Service" section of the website
www.pressfi t.com.
