Using Duden-Oxford –
Großwörterbuch Englisch

In this Dictionary, definitions (in English) of a German word can be found by
entering its spelling, with Phrase search available for use.

Looking up a word by Filter search

A definition of a German word can be looked up by inputting its spelling.
<Example>
Find the definition of 'geben'.
1. Press u to open Duden-Oxford –
Großwörterbuch Englisch (Deutsch-

Englisch) .

The spelling input screen appears.
2. Input 'geben'.
As you type, options are narrowed. If
the desired word is found, then you do
not need to type any more letters.
3. While ' ' appears on the left of
'geben', press e. The detail view
of the word appears.

• To browse contents on the next/previous page, press } { or > <. You
may also find the Quick View function useful.
• To search a word in the detail view, use the Super Jump function.
• Press f to return to the previous screen.
• Press l to list the headwords in Duden-Oxford – Großwörterbuch

• To search a different word, simply begin inputting a new word, or press b
