5-Channel Transformer
for Converting 100 V Signals
into Line Level Signals
These instructions are intended for in-
stallers with specific knowledge of sound
reproduction using 100 V technology.
Please read the instructions carefully prior
to installation and keep them for later ref-
erence.
1 Applications
The 5-way transformer PATL-105 is used in PA
systems to convert 100 V audio signals into
line level signals. Thus, it is possible to have a
tap for an additional amplifier with line level
input on each of five 100 V lines. This allows
the PA system to be expanded, e. g. for repro-
ducing sound in additional rooms. For the PA
mixing amplifiers PA-1120, PA-1240, PA-6240,
PA-6480 and PA-6600 and also the more recent
versions PA-5240 and PA-5480, it is possible to
install PATL-105 on the rear of the amplifier.
2 Safety Notes
The product corresponds to all relevant direc-
tives of the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING During operation, there is a
hazard of contact with a dan-
gerous voltage of up to 100 V
at the connection cables.
Installation must be carried out
by skilled personnel only.

The product is suitable for indoor use only.
Protect it against dripping water, splash
water and high air humidity. The admissible
ambient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C.

For cleaning the product only use a dry, soft
cloth; never use chemicals or water.
•
No guarantee claims for the product and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
product is not correctly used or not expertly
repaired.
If the product is to be put out of
operation definitely, dispose of the
product in accordance with local reg-
ulations.

3 Installation
1) Always switch off the PA system completely
before installing PATL-105 so that the 100 V
outputs of the PA amplifier will not carry any
voltage!
2) Connect the cables (3) to the 100 V output
terminals of the amplifier (each in parallel to
a speaker cable connected).

3) Connect the line level inputs of the devices
to be connected (e. g. additional amplifiers)
to the corresponding terminal pairs (2).
4) Use the screws provided to attach PATL-105
via the mounting brackets (1) to the ampli-
fier, for example.
If it is necessary to remove the sheet metal
parts on the lower side for leading the cables
out, cut open their joining pieces to do so.
