▶ Remove floating strainer from the vehicle
WARNING: never use aluminum rod (10) to transporting strainer, use handles (9) only!
▶ Connect suction hose to floating strainer. It is necessary to ensure the tightness and of all
connections. Connect any number of hoses according to the required length.
Note:
Suction height must not exceed the maximum suction height of pumping device.
Start operation
Connect strainer to hoses from the pump and place on the water surface. A secondary atta-
chment may be fixed to one or both handles to allow for positional control of the AMPHIBIO.
Pumping
Prepared strainer is ready for pumping from open water surface.
The floating strainer can be used for water with a low level ( for fighting forest fires, drying wet-
lands or tank filling etc.) but with minimum level of about 5 cm. Alternatively you can use it for
drying flooded areas up to 1,5 – 2 cm .
ATTENTION:
It is recommended to use the minimum speed of the pump when pumping from
places with a flat clean bottom. High speed of the pump may cause the strainer to stick to the
bottom and damage the suction chamber, in this situation, stop pumping immediately!
The plastic grille prevents the system from getting any debris inside. Crosscuts are specially de-
signed to prevent any debris which could endanger the pump to go through the system. At the
same time it is also reducing the suction revulsion as the total surface of the suction chamber is
2,5 times bigger than the strainer outlet (110mm).
What to do after using the strainer
Drain the strainer after use by pulling the rope connected to control lever, the flap will lift the
check valve and release all water from suction chamber. Pull the strainer from water surface.
ATTENTION:
Never use the rope connected to the lever to pull strainer from the water, this may
cause damage to the strainer. It is advised to add an additional rope to one or both handles in
order to position and retrieve the strainer from the water.
