This safety measures and user manual forms part of the equipment. The Electric Weeder must always be
accompanied by the manual. For safety reasons, anyone who has to use the equipment must have read and fully
understood the instruction manual. The manual includes important instructions on handling and safety measures to
take when using the equipment. Failure to follow safety instructions and warnings may lead to serious injury and
life-threatening situations. It is advisable to keep the manual with the equipment for when you need to refer to it. It
must be ensured that this appliance is not used by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental
abilities are impaired, unless they are under the supervision of a person who can guarantee their safety. To protect
children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them alone and unsupervised with the appliance.

AREA OF APPLICATION

Matabi Electric Weeder equipment is designed for private and domestic use, outside the house, patio or garden. It is not suitable for
professional use. The main purpose of the device is to remove unwanted plants, weeds, grass, etc. during their growth period. The
equipment can also be used to light charcoal for outdoor barbecues. Using the equipment for purposes for which it is not designed
may create unnecessary risks.

BASIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Safety instructions before use

In France, follow the standard NF C15-100 of 07/00 that governs low voltage electrical installations. In all other countries, follow
local regulations.

Before using the appliance, it is advisable to have an experienced electrician check that the necessary safety measures are in
place in the electrical network and to familiarise yourself with the appliance before use.

This appliance is for outdoor use only.
-
The equipment must not be used as a source of heat in the home.
-
Under no circumstances should it be used to melt ice, snow or the similar.
-
Keep the appliance away from people who are not trained to use it and children.
-
Do not use the device near fl ammable products or explosive atmospheres.
-
To avoid fi re risks, do not use the appliance in arid areas.
-
Do not use the equipment in wet or rainy weather conditions.
-
Check the general condition of the appliance, as well as the cable before use.

Make sure that the mains voltage is correct, as specifi ed in the technical data. The appliance must only be connected to
grounded alternating current sources.

If an extension cord is used, it must have the same characteristics as the equipment cable. This extension cord should be
designed for outdoor use and be grounded. 1.5mm

For safety reasons, the connection that supplies the equipment must have a differential device with a tripping current of no more
than 30 mA. It is recommended to consult with your electrical installer.

Do not use the machine if you are under the infl uence of alcohol, drugs or medications. Also avoid using it if you are tired or sick.
2.2 Safety instructions during use

To avoid fi re and burns, handle the equipment with care.

Never leave the appliance plugged in whilst unattended.

Never direct the jet of air at people or animals.
-
The jet of hot air must not be directed at fl ammable objects and must be kept away from possible sources of ignition.

Do not keep the appliance on the same place for a long time.
-
Do not touch the diffuser (H) or the protection screen (G) during use.

Dried weeds and undergrowth may catch fi re. Once the treatment is fi nished, check the area to confi rm that there is no risk of
fi re.

Wear fi rm footwear and suitable protective gloves when using the appliance.
-
Never use the appliance with wet hands.
-
Do not immerse the equipment in water, spray it or clean it with water. If the equipment comes into contact with water or falls
into water, it should be switched off immediately. While the appliance is connected, it must not come into contact with water
under any circumstances.

Release the on/off button (C) each time you lift the equipment.
-
Do not obstruct the air inlet holes (D).
-
Do not expose the device to dust or extreme temperatures during use.
-
Do not shake the appliance and avoid using excessive force during use.
-
Do not let the hot parts of the equipment come into contact with the cord or extension cord.

Do not try to open or repair the equipment yourself. Repair must be carried out by the manufacturer.

Do not use the appliances cable for purposes other than those intended, do not use the cable to carry the Electric Weeder, to hook
it up or even to disconnect it from the power outlet.
