Soldering iron for stained glass

Intended Use
This soldering iron was especially designed for working with stained glass. The soldering tip reaches a
temperature of approx. 560 °C, the temperature necessary to solder glass. Special copper soldering wire is
needed to solder stained glass.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be
avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product
for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use
can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards. Read the instructions carefully and store
them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If
you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual,
we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases
will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and/or knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in
a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
• WARNING - This tool must be placed on the stand
when not in use.
• To prevent risks, damaged power cables may only be
replaced by the manufacturer, a professional workshop
appointed by the manufacturer, or a similarly qualified
person.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can dam-
age the product.
• Before plugging in the device, verify that the information on the product's rating plate cor-
respond with your household power supply.

Operating instructions
• The power socket must be in the vicinity of the device and easily accessible. Never unplug by
tugging on the cord, use the provided gripping surfaces on the plug itself. Unplug the device
when it is not in use.
• For safety reasons, always unplug the device in case of a thunderstorm.
• Make sure that the power cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp corners or otherwise
subjected to mechanical stress. Prevent the power cable from becoming too hot and too cold.
Do not alter the power cable. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to a damaged power
cable. A damaged power cable can cause fatal injury due to electric shock.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses
a risk of injury.
• If the power cable is visibly damaged, do not touch it. First make sure the power socket is
voltage-free (i.e. by flipping the circuit breaker) and then carefully unplug the cable. Never use
the product if the cable is damaged. Never plug in or unplug the power cable with wet hands.
• To prevent risks, damaged power cables may only be replaced by the manufacturer, a profes-
sional workshop appointed by the manufacturer, or a similarly qualified person.
• The soldering tip becomes very hot. Do touch it.
• Always set down the hot soldering iron on a heat-resistant surface. Set down the soldering
iron and its tip using the provided metal stand.
• After use, allow the product to cool down to room temperature.
• Never submerge the product in water or other liquids. Risk of electric shock!
• In schools, educational facilities, hobby and DIY workshops, the product must be operated
under the supervision of qualified personnel.
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using
the product in commercial facilities.
Work Safety
• Ensure that there is sufficient lighting.
• Ensure proper ventilation during soldering. Solder and flux vapours can be harmful to your
health.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after working with solder.
• Do not put soldering alloys into your mouth. Do not eat or drink during soldering.
• Wear suitable protective clothing and safety goggles when soldering. Liquid/splashing solder
may cause serious burns or eye damage.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an
authorised repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
Care and Cleaning
Disconnect the product from the mains before each cleaning.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause
damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory
guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
