How it works:

During mains operation, an integrated battery is
charged and monitored during lighting operation. In
the event of a power failure, the luminaire switches
to battery operati5on. In the battery operation the
luminaire is available with reduced luminous flux.
When the mains is back on, the luminaire is switched
back to mains operation. Now you may return to the
full luminous flux available. The rechargeable battery
is charged automatically after the mains have been
restored.
For optical control of the charging, the LED display
integrated in the cap is available (see picture).
Please refer to the technical data for charging and
lighting time.
The LED integrated in the lid is available for visual
inspection of the charge. (see image)
Control button EM OFF:
By pressing the button, the emergency light can be
interrupted during battery operation.
It is not possible to restart the emergency light
by hand.
An automatic changeover to battery operation is only
carried out after the system returns and fails again.
INFORMATION!
Use this feature to keep the battery on the middle
charge level, e.g. for shorten the charging time
after the mains come back on. Or when you intend
to store the luminaire for a longer period of time.
This spares the battery and extends the life time.

For cleaning the plastic / metal parts, do not use
solvents, alcohols or other chemicals. Use a soft, dry
and lint-free cloth for the cleaning.
EM OFF
The luminaire ALDEBARAN
designed as maintenance-free. Therefore, no mainte-
nance works are necessary.
Automatic self-test
The luminaires are assembled with an automatic
self-test system, testing the luminaires independently.
Weekly tested are the electronic system, the lamp
and the battery. Additionally, every year the battery
capacity is measured by simulating a mains power
failure. The first capacity test is performed 8 days
after installation or fault repair.
The device is repairable. Single components can be
replaced or repaired by a trained person.
DANGER! Electrical current!
Before every maintenance, repair and cleaning, the
device must generally be disconnected from the
supply grid by pulling out the grid plug.
