Intended use
This alarm clock provides you with the following functions: The exact time, alarm function, repeat alarm,
background illumination and projection of the time on a wall or ceiling. This alarm clock is only intended for
indoor use. Power for the alarm clock and temporary projection is supplied via two AA batteries of 1.5 volt
each. For continuous projection, the power supply unit must additionally be used (power supply unit included
in delivery).
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

a) Persons / Product
• The unit may only be used in dry inside areas.
• The adaptor is protection Class II compliant.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period
of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) batteries might
cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle
corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave (rechargeable)
batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
• All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new
(rechargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery leakage and device
damage.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never
recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
c) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.

Battery installation / change of batteries
1. Open the battery case cover (8) on the back of the device.
2. Insert the batteries into the battery case while paying attention to the correct polarity ("+" positive;
"-" negative). (two 1.5 V batteries, type AA Mignon)
3. Put the cover (8) back on.
For continuous projection, the power supply unit must additionally be used. Put the low-voltage
plug connector into the DC input socket (9).

Functional description
The DCF radio signal for the exact time is coded and broadcast from a transmitter in Maiflingen near
Frankfurt, Germany. The transmitter has a range of approx. 1,500 km. Clocks with integrated radio receivers
can receive and decode the radio signal within range of this radio signal. For these clocks, manually setting

the time is not necessary (e.g. when changing from winter to summer time). The automatic change between
summer and winter time takes 24 hours, at most.
Automatic synchronisation
After fitting the batteries, the clock will immediately start the synchronisation process. The hour and minute
hands will move automatically to the 4, 8 or 12 o'clock position. The clock will now start to search for the
DCF radio time signal. Wait for up to 5 minutes for the clock to set itself. If the clock does not set itself, move
it closer to a window or turn it through 90°. Then remove the batteries and replace them after 1 minute. To
minimise interference to the reception, you should not place the alarm clock in the vicinity of metal objects
or other electrical apparatus. If the synchronisation was successful, after about 5 minutes the current time
will appear. If you leave the area where the radio signal can be received (range 1,500 km), then the alarm
clock will work like a normal clock.
Alarm feature
1. The alarm time is set with the alarm setting wheel (5). Turn this wheel anticlockwise until you have set
the required alarm time (orange hand).
2. The alarm on/off switch (6) is on the left hand side of the housing. Slide this switch to the ON position.
3. If the alarm sounds, you can stop it with the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button (1) on the top of the housing
- repeat alarm. The alarm will sound again after about 4 minutes. During the alarm, the background
illumination and the projection of the time are activated for about 5 seconds. If the alarm is not switched
off, it switches off automatically after about 2 minutes and sounds again 24 hours later.
4. To turn the alarm off completely, you must set the switch to "OFF". Please don't forget to switch this back
to "ON", so that you will be woken the following morning.
Background illumination
If you press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button (1) on the top of the housing, the clock face will be illuminated.
The projection of the time will also be activated. After about 5 seconds the illumination and the projection
extinguish automatically.
Projecting the time on the ceiling or wall
1. Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (1). The time will now automatically be projected on the ceiling or wall
for a duration of 5 seconds.
2. By turning to the left or right, you can adjust the display to meet your needs. With the help of "ROTATE" (2)
and "FOCUS" (4) you can make fine adjustments to the projection. Press the "FLIP" (3) button if you
would like to rotate the display by 180°.
3. If a mains power supply is connected to the socket (9), bottom left in the foot, and if the slide switch
"CONTINUE PROJECTION" (7) at the rear of the housing is slid towards the top, then projection will be
continuous until it is switched off or until the power supply is unplugged.
Continuous operation increases the power consumption and reduces the operational life of
the lens.
The projection is only suitable for dark rooms. Projection in daylight will not be visible. If you
use continuous projection, we recommend only switching this on whilst it makes sense, in other
words, at most during the night. If you switch the projection off every morning, you will extend
the operational life of the lens.
Maintenance and cleaning
The enclosure is to be wiped off with a soft dry cloth, as needed. If there is more dirt, please use a lightly
moistened cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable
batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labelled with this symbol to indicate that disposal
in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd =
Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash
icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our stores
or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
