All sintered blades (those for granite and
sandstone) need to be sharpened in a
sharpening stone occassionally and
when cutting performance drops.
NEVER sharpen galvanised blades (those
for marble)!
7.3 Doing the Job
Position machine on workpiece, open the
water valve so that there is a regular flow of
water down along the saw-blade.
Move saw close to starting point of cut and
switch on the machine while the blade
puts NO PRESSURE on the workpiece yet
and then carefully commence cutting.
When machine rests straight (level) on work-
piece, gradually increase forward movement
(feed) to attain best cutting results.
If cutting dust appears from underneath the
workpiece, increase water flow to avoid pre-
mature wear of the saw-blade.
When cutting curves, the machine must be
level on the workpiece, i.e. resting heavy
and straight on the material, and must be
moved forward in cutting direction, not tan-
gential from the curve. Putting too much
pressure on the side of the blade causes fast
wear of the blade guide and cuts may be out
of proper angle.
"Inside" cuts should be started off with a full
diamond drill bit, 8mm Ø. Drill 3 holes next

to each other, which are extended into one
lengthy hole by milling. With the water valve
open, machine is now inserted with its blade
into the opening and is started after resting it
heavily and plain on the workpiece.
Attention! The machine should always be
used on slabs or workpieces in horizontal
position.
7.4 Job Interruptions
If the job has to be interrupted, the cutting
clearance should be widened slightly by
making a brief cut to the right and left of the
current position. Then switch off jig-saw and
first wait for the saw-blade to come to a
standstill. Only then remove machine from
the cut and close water valve.
WARNING!
Never lift the machine from the cut while
running! Danger of breakage of machine
and blade!

7.5 Finishing Work

After work, clean the jig-saw and clean
the felt pad under the foot-plate by using
compressed air.
Cleaning the felt pad prevents stone dust to
cause abrasions or scratches on polished
stone surfaces.
Move stroke-shaft of machine to lowest posi-
tion, so that rubber-protection is extended
and can dry without sticking together.
