4.2 Preparing the CF card
Step 1:
Copy the file update.en1 into the main directory of your memory card.
Step 2:
Insert the CF card into the Multimedia Player and then the Multimedia Player into your
handheld. The following message will appear: Update file UPDATE.xxx has been found.
Press START to update the system or press A to cancel.
Step 3:
1. Press START to perform the update. After the update, press A to go to the main menu.
2. Press A in order to cancel the update and go directly to the main menu.
Note: To get additional wallpaper (Backings) onto your handheld, copy the sample file or your
own self-made files into the BACKINGS folder on the CF card.
5. Files
a) Video
The conversion software converts video files into a GBM and a GBS file. Both files must be
present in the same folder on the CF card to enable proper playback.
b) Audio
The software converts audio files into a GBS file.
Uncompressed WAV-format audio files are supported. The following files are supported in
WAV-format are supported: Sample rate <= 48 kHz in 8 or 16 bit, mono or stereo.
Synchronised song lyrics in LRC format are supported. Store the LRC file in the same directory
under the same name as the GBS or WAV music file. The song lyrics will then be displayed on
the player synchronised to the music.

c) Photos
Uncompressed BMP format graphic files are supported. Scaling and wrap functions are
available. The following BMP format files are supported: True Colour (32 bit and 24 bit), True
Colour for GBA (16 bit), 256 colours and greyscale, 16 colours, 4 colours, 2 colours, and Black
and White.
d) FC games
Copy "Pocketnes.gba" into the main directory of the CF card in order that FC games in NES for-
mat, up to 200 kb, are supported.
Copy "Gooba.gba" into the main directory of the CF card in order that GB/GBC games in
GB/GBC format, up to 200 kb, are supported.
This way, GBA-formatted GBA-ROMs with up to 256 KB can be executed directly in internal
GBA memory (start address 0x2000000).
e) eBooks
Supports numerous languages, character sets and the saving of bookmarks. The maximum
number of bookmarks is 300. No additional font files are required. The character sets comprise
the following: 8 x 8, 12 x 12, 16 x 16. Among the supported languages are the following:
System standard (English)
1250 – Central European (Latin 2)
1251 – Cyrillic
1252 – Western European (Latin 1)
1253 – Greek
1254 – Turkish (Latin 5)
1255 – Hebraic
1257 – Baltic
1258 – Vietnamese
6. Software settings
Warning: If you are uncertain about a menu item then just move the cursor over the item and
wait; relevant information about it will appear after a couple of seconds. If this is insufficient,
then right-click on the item with the mouse and select "Help" to receive detailed information.
