Performing optical verification:
1. Optical Verification must be performed every 30 days using the provided Verification Standards.
2. When verification is due, the unit will display "!!!" on the Block Status portion on the Main Menu.
3. Press the number on the keypad corresponding to the block requiring verification and follow the on
screen prompts to complete verification.
4. To perform Optical Verification when "!!!" is not displayed on the Main Menu, access the SERVICE
menu and select the VERIFICATION option. Proceed by following the onscreen prompts.
NOTE: Each Block of the Alethia functions independently. For example, a failed verification test for Block
A will not prevent use of Block B when Block B verification testing passes.
NOTE: In the event that the Optical Verification fails, remove Verification Standards from the Alethia
instrument. Clean standards with a lint free tissue or lens paper and repeat Optical Verification. Contact
Meridian's Technical Support Services at (800)343-3858 if issue persists.
WARNING: Do NOT leave Verification Standards in Alethia. Verification Standards will get hot and
could burn the user. Prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures may impact the performance of
the Verification Standards.
