AES: Referring to Commission Regulation (EC) No.
1275/2008, electrical and electronic devices need to
be equipped with an energy saving mechanism which
automatically switches the device off after not being
used for a certain period of time. On your Hughes &
Kettner amp, this mechanism is called AES. It can be
activated and deactivated with the mini switch next to
the power button and speaker jack.
Factory default is AES on; the mini switch is in the
left position. In this mode, the amp will automatically
be switched off after a phase of silence of about 90
minutes. The phase of silence is reset, and starts again,
as soon as the amp receives an input signal (e.g. by
playing a note). A quite gentle signal is enough to
trigger the re-start of the 90-minute phase of silence
until the amp will switch off automatically. After
automatically being shut down by AES, the amp can
be switched back on with the Power button. Moving
the mini switch to the right will deactivate AES, so
it will not shut down the amp after 90 minutes of
inactivity.

The Spirit Nano Head series comes with a universal
power supply that works reliably at any mains voltage
worldwide and maintains the sound quality wherever
you go. Please only use the original power supply or
power supplies with 24 volts DC and a minimum of
2 ampere. The included power supply delivers 2.5
ampere to guarantee maximum headroom.
Heads up: When you connect your Spirit Nano, make
sure to connect the amp to the power supply first, then
connect the power supply to the mains voltage outlet.
