high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation
and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be
guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or

• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low
height can damage the product.

• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
• Switch on the computer and wait until the OS has fully loaded.
• Connect the card reader to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer using the USB
cable. The OS will automatically detect the card reader and display the inserted card as
a drive on the user interface.
• If your computer does not possess a USB 3.0 port, then the card reader can also be
connected to a USB 2.0/1.1 port, as it is backward compatible. In this case, the data
transfer speed will only match the specifications of the slower port.
Important: SDXC memory cards use a file system called exFAT. If your computer
is running Windows
XP, you must install a corresponding update; otherwise, the
®
OS will not be able to detect SDXC memory cards! Visit the www.microsoft.com
website and search for the exFAT file system update. You will not be able to use
SDXC memory cards in conjunction with Windows
this update!
Inserting/removing a memory card
• Insert the memory card into a suitable slot on your card reader. Ensure that the card is
inserted in the correct position. Do not force the card into the slot. Only one memory card
should be inserted into the card reader at once.
• Before removing a memory card from the card reader (or disconnecting the card reader
from the computer), you must first wait for all read or write operations from or to the
memory card to be completed.
• Before removing the memory card, take the necessary steps (eject or similar) to ensure
that the card is removed securely. Refer to the instructions in the user manual for your OS.
If the memory card is removed during reading or writing (or if the card reader is
disconnected), then data on the memory card may be damaged and the card may
even have to be reformatted.
Reading from/writing to memory cards
• A memory card inserted into the card reader is treated like a conventional removable
media drive. You can read data from (or write data to) a memory card just as if it were a
USB hard drive or USB stick.
Please be aware that two different cards cannot be detected and displayed in the
OS at the same time.
Maintenance and cleaning
Never use aggressive and abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other
chemical solutions, as these could damage the casing or even impair the
functioning of the product.
• Always disconnect the product from the power supply (USB port) before cleaning it.
• The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning. Use a soft,
antistatic and lint-free cloth to clean the device.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
