GDM 250 Swan-neck Microphone

Intended Use
The GDM 250 swan-neck microphone is intended to convert acoustic signals (sound waves)
into electrical signals.
The low-level audio output may only be connected to suitable microphone inputs of audio
devices.
Operate the microphone via a device with phantom powering (48 V/DC) only.
The product may only be used indoors; never outdoors. Do not expose the device to damp,
e.g. in bathrooms etc.
Any use other than that described above will lead to damage to the microphone and will expose
you to additional risks, such as short circuits, fi re, etc.
No part of the product should be modifi ed or reassembled.
Always observe the safety instructions.
This product complies with the national and European legal requirements.

• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation to the product are not

• Operate the microphone via a device with phantom powering (48 V/DC) only.
• When connecting the microphone, pay attention to the safety instructions of the device to
which it is to be connected.
• Do not expose the microphone to high temperatures, strong vibrations or drips or water
spray.
• Use the microphone only in a moderate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around since it may become a dange-
rous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability In-
surance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are
not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service
or another specialist.
Functional Description
The GDM 250 swan-neck microphone is a high-quality condensor microphone for voice recor-
ding. The application range spans the DJ industry, studio recordings and broadcasts.
The microphone is equipped with the following features:
• red operation indicator in microphone head
• XLR output
• low inherent noise
• broad frequency spectrum
• sturdy swan neck for optimal adjustment

Connection
• Switch off the mixer to which the microphone is to be connected.
• Turn down the volume completely for the microphone input concerned.
• Plug the microphone into the microphone connection of the mixer console.
• To avoid wind noise, you can place the provided windscreen on the microphone head.
Operation
• Set the input level control of the audio mixer to the minimum.
• Switch on the phantom feed on your mixing desk.
• Switch on your mixing desk.
• As soon as the microphone is supplied with power, the ring on the microphone head lights.
• Please adapt the sensitivity of your mixer by means of the corresponding input level control
to the microphone (see the instruction of the mixer).
• After use, slide the input control of the mixer to minimum again.

In order to ensure a correct start of operation of the device, you should read
these operating instructions including the safety instructions thoroughly and
attentively before using the device.
To avoid distortion or mismatching which could damage the microphone or
the connected audio device, the microphone may only be connected to suita-
ble microphone inputs. To do this, also pay attention to the connection data in
the "Technical data" section.
Never point the microphone at the sound openings of loudspeakers, since
this may lead to interference, which could damage the loudspeaker and the
connected amplifi er.
Please dispose of the microphone at the end of its service life according to the
current statutory requirements.
