Installation and Connection
• The connection to the room thermostat may be carried out only when power supply
is disconnected.
Thus, fi rst switch off all poles of the mains supply to the room thermostat by remov-
ing the fuse or switching off at the circuit breaker and then switch off the associated
residual current circuit breaker (RCD). Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g.
with a danger sign.
Check that the mains connection is free of current i.e. with an appropriate tester.
• Remove the thermostat from the wall mounting plate (room thermostat, type "tx.1"
or "tx.2") by unscrewing the two attachment screws on the lower edge.
For this purpose, observe the operating manual of the thermostat.
• First remove the existing temperature sensor
(see arrow in the right picture).
• Lay the cable of the temperature sensor through
the wall mounting plate; otherwise you may not
be able to attach the thermostat to the wall
mounting plate.
• Attach the two cables of the temperature sensor
to the screw terminal; the polarity is irrelevant.
• Place the thermostat on the mounting plate and
then attach it using the screws removed at the start.
Make sure the thermostat is attached securely to the wall mounting plate.
• Install the cable in a suitable place.
Do not bend the cable and do not place objects on it. Place the cables in such
a way that nobody can trip over them. Protect the cable from sharp edges
and objects.
The cable can be surface-mounted or concealed.
When laying the cable, make sure no water can enter the thermostat along
the cable. Otherwise, there is a risk through a life-threatening electric shock!
• Place the temperature sensor in a suitable location and fasten it using e.g. a cable tie
or the like.
• After completing the installation, switch on the mains voltage for the thermostat.
• Through the use of the external temperature sensor, the temperature is no longer
measured via the sensor inside the thermostat but via the external sensor at the
end of the cable, thus enabling a better and faster control of the room temperature.
