1. SAFETY CAUTIONS

USING THE UNIT!
• WARNING: Very hot surface.
• Do not touch hot surfaces.
• CAUTION: Do not remove lid when water is boiling.
• WARNING: Place the lid in a position such that the escaping
steam is not directed at the handle.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe
use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved.
Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by
children without supervision.
• Never immerse the kettle or power base in water or any other
liquid. Ensure the electric kettle socket is kept dry.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer. The user
should never attempt to replace it.
• Never use the Cuisinart® jug with any base other than the
Cuisinart® base.
• This appliance is intended for domestic use only and is not
intended to be used in applications such as: staff kitchen areas
in shops, offices, and other working environments; farms;
by customers in hotels, motels, and other residential type
environments; bed and breakfast type establishments.
• Do not turn the kettle power on when there is no water in the
jug (the unit has a boil dry mechanism which shuts it off ).
