Building a Sandwich
ALL Sandwiches should be stacked in the correct order. Attempting to use incorrect plates may cause damage to the machine. Please
ensure the combinations of plates are correct. To ensure the best results, experiment with a scrap piece of paper first.
Cutting Sandwich
1. Start with the Grey Base Plate (A) on the bottom and place the Spellbinders® die template on top with the ridged cutting side facing up.
See fig 4.
2. Place the media on top of the die template, desired pattern facing down. See fig 4.
3. Cover with the White Cutting Plate (C). See fig 4.
4. Keeping the Sandwich flat and straight, insert into the Grand Calibur tray.
5. Rotate the handle front to back until the sandwich comes out the other side of the machine. See fig 5.
6. Remove the sandwich.
Tip: To help prevent media sticking to intricate die templates, try securing wax paper between the die template and the media.
Embossing a Cut Shape Sandwich
1. Start with the Grey Base Plate (A) on the bottom and place the Spellbinders die template on top (ridged cutting side facing up) with the
cut media still inside the die. See fig 6.
2. Cover with the Tan Embossing Mat, followed by the Pink Embossing Plate (B). See fig 6.
3. Keeping the Sandwich flat and straight, insert into the Grand Calibur tray.
4. Rotate the handle front to back until the sandwich comes out the other side of the machine.
5. Remove the sandwich.
Cutting a Window Card Sandwich
1. Start with the Grey Base Plate (A) on the bottom.
2. Align the Spellbinders die template on the front of the card, with the ridged cutting side facing the card.
3. Secure the die template in place with some low tack removable tape.
4. Open the card, and place it on to the Grey Base Plate (A) with the ridged cutting side of the die template facing up.
5. Cover with the White Cutting Plate (C).
6. Keeping the Sandwich flat and straight, insert into the Grand Calibur tray.
7. Rotate the handle front to back until the sandwich comes out the other side of the machine.
8. Remove the sandwich.
Tip: Place a Spellbinders Magnetic Placement Mat (sold separately) between the base plate and the die template to help your die
templates stay in place.
